Join veteran NDSF Scenic Artist Scott Gerwitz for a special workshop in fabricating faux wood. Watch Scott fabricate the wood of the boat featured in the NDSF 2017 production of The Tempest, and get a sneak preview of the wood design that will decorate the stage for next summer’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Scott Gerwitz has been a Chicago-based scenic artist for over 23 years. He was the Charge Scenic Artist at Steppenwolf Theatre for ten years, and the lead painter for The Oprah Winfrey Show. He now Charges at the Court Theatre, Loyola University Chicago, and Shakespeare at Notre Dame. He paints restaurant murals around the country for his company Morpheus Murals Inc. In 2018 he joined the Executive Board for the Guild of Scenic Artists. Scott received his MFA from Brandeis University and is a member of United Scenic Artists #829. www.morpheusmurals.co
