MACBETH
By William Shakespeare

Directed by Karen Kessler

How far would you go in the pursuit of power?

The shortest and most ferocious of Shakespeare’s tragedies, the infamous “Scottish play” recounts the brutal rise and fall of the ill-fated Macbeth.  One of his countries most acclaimed warriors, Macbeth seethes when he is passed over as heir to the throne.  Spurred on by his ambitious wife and supported by supernatural prophecies, Macbeth forges a bloody path to the crown he knows he most richly deserves.

Both a cautionary tale and a parable for our age,
Macbeth is quick, raw, and remarkably relevant.

Award-winning Chicago director Karen Kessler makes her Mainstage directing debut with this wickedly entertaining production.  Don’t miss out on the action!
